Minor Student Support
CLI’s Chaperone Service for Minors provides a dedicated chaperone with 24/7 availability for students learning Chinese with CLI in Guilin, helping families further ensure a safe, healthy, and enriching experience.
Overview
Sending your child abroad can be both exciting and daunting for parents. To ensure a safe, healthy, and enriching experience for your child, families may take part in CLI’s Chaperone Service for Minors.
This service includes a dedicated chaperone with 24/7 availability at an additional fee of 320 USD per week. CLI’s dedicated chaperones are carefully selected from within our full-time and part-time team and are comprehensively trained in the soft and hard skills required to meet the responsibility.
The chaperone’s primary responsibility is to be available at all times, helping ensure your child’s safety and well-being throughout their stay.
Chaperones are assigned at most one minor at any given time in order to provide dedicated care and attention.
The Chaperone Service for Minors is available as an additional service for families who would like extra support.
Each chaperone is selected from CLI’s team and trained to support the practical, personal, and cultural needs of minor students.
How It Works
CLI’s chaperone service includes a variety of essential duties designed to enhance the safety and well-being of your child. The service combines day-to-day supervision, structured check-ins, parent communication, and practical support for navigating life in Guilin.
In addition to supervision, the chaperone also serves as a language buddy and mentor, offering companionship and guidance in line with CLI’s Pengyou Program.
Three required check-ins each day: wake-up, once during the day, and bedtime
Ongoing communication through parent-student and parent-only WeChat conversations
Companionship, cultural exchange, shared meals, and help navigating Guilin
To ensure the safety of minors, students participating in the Chaperone Service are required to be accompanied by their chaperone or a CLI team member whenever they go out into the city.
This ensures that the student is not exploring Guilin on their own and remains in a safe and supervised environment throughout their time at CLI.
Primary Responsibilities
CLI’s chaperone service is designed to enhance the safety and well-being of minor students while also supporting their daily life, communication, and cultural experience in Guilin.
