Katarina is from Guilin, Guangxi. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Guangxi University for Nationalities in 2014 and her Master's in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from Guangxi Normal University.
In 2015 and 2017, she participated in the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (formerly "Hanban") program, serving as an international Chinese language volunteer in Indonesia and South Africa for one year each. In 2018, she worked as a state-sponsored Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute at Portland State University in the U.S. for two years.
From 2022 to 2025, she taught at the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna in Austria. She independently manages the public WeChat account "Miss Wednesday," which focuses on international Chinese language education, and has authored hundreds of teaching notes, conference summaries, and cross-cultural communication articles. Her research interests include international Chinese language education and cross-cultural communication.
Katarina has been a CLI teacher since 2016.
