The Blake School 2024 Taiwan Seminar will include a three-week exploration of Taiwan's diverse social centers: Taipei, Taiwan's bustling modern capital; Tainan, the island's ancient cultural heart; and Taitung, a natural oasis situated along the stunning East Coast.
Please complete the following steps in preparation for your journey to Taiwan. Feel free to contact your program manager, Anias Stambolis-D'Agostino (anias@studycli.org), anytime during your planning process.
1. Complete Your Student Information Form
Please complete your Student Information Form by Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Be sure to enter information exactly as it appears (or will appear) in your passport and select "Blake Summer 2024 Taiwan Seminar".
2. Review Important Taiwan Health and Travel Information
Please thoroughly review important travel and health information from the American Institute in Taiwan and US CDC.
3. Complete CLI’s Dietary & Medical Form
It is important that your program organizers have access to information regarding any dietary restrictions, medical allergies, or medical conditions you may have.
Please complete CLI’s optional Dietary & Medical Form by Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
4. Upload a Scan of Your Passport
Please use CLI’s secure Passport Form to submit a scan of your passport’s main information page by Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
If you do not already have a passport that will be valid for at least six months after your program end date, please visit the U.S. State Department website or your country’s equivalent site for instructions on how to obtain one.
5. Review Your Pre-Departure Reminders PDF
Your CLI Program Manager will email you a detailed pre-departure reminders PDF one month prior to your journey that includes packing, weather, money, and health and safety considerations.
Be sure to review all information carefully and feel free to contact CLI with any additional questions you may have.
6. Review CLI’s list of Online Learning Resources
Mandarin is the official language of Taiwan, and a great selection of free Mandarin learning resources is available online.
Please take time to review and familiarize yourself with each of the resources mentioned in CLI’s online learning resources list. Remember that traditional characters are used in Taiwan!
