Who fits
You don't need to speak Chinese or have studied at CLI. We'll cover what you need to know in training.
Common questions
No. Plenty of ambassadors have never studied Chinese. You just need to be able to explain why studying abroad is worth considering.
As little as an hour a month. There's no quota, and you choose which activities to take on. A class announcement takes about two minutes, plus the walk to the lecture hall.
After an activity, email us a quick proof. We usually review it within about a week and add the points to your account. Once a month, you can redeem them for cash through Zelle or for free one-on-one Chinese lessons.
No. CLI alumni often have an easier time at first because they can answer questions from experience. But you don't need to have studied at CLI. If you haven't, the training will give you the background you need.
No. There's no contract and no minimum term. If finals get busy, take the semester off and come back later. Or stop entirely. You'll keep any points you've already earned.
It's a 30-minute video call with Robert, CLI's co-founder. He'll explain the role and training, answer your questions, and confirm whether your campus is a good fit. There's nothing to prepare.
