Select an HSK level (1–3) to study the vocabulary introduced at that level. HSK 2 and HSK 3 decks contain new entries only; review the earlier decks for complete cumulative coverage. These word lists follow the official HSK examination syllabus published in November 2025, whose cover specifies implementation in July 2026. HSK 1 introduces 300 entries, HSK 2 adds 200, and HSK 3 adds 500: cumulative totals of 300, 500, and 1,000. Pinyin and part-of-speech labels follow the syllabus at each entry’s introductory level; English definitions are study aids, not official syllabus translations.
Pinyin in this tool is color-coded by tone: 1st tone (red), 2nd tone (orange), 3rd tone (green), 4th tone (blue), and neutral tone (gray). This helps you internalize the tonal shape of each word as you study.
HSK 3.0 uses a three-stage, nine-level framework. The November 2025 examination syllabus builds on the 2021 proficiency standard but defines different vocabulary requirements.
